Are we allowed to hold a US and Ontario driver license at the same time ?

I had exchanged my US drivers license (which was about to expire) for a full G Ontario driver license. After moving back to the US, I received my renewed US drivers license by mail - so now I have both US and Ontario driver licenses.

Is that okay ?

Nope ! you can keep only one
You should return the one that you do not need . You might get into a problem if you get into an accident in US ..

I also have similar question. I have US driver's license and working in USA on visa. I have canadian PR and have residence in windsor,ON and I commute to work in USA. I cannot give up US driver's license. How can I then get a Canadian license? Can I apply for the license in Canada without mentioning that I have a US license?

You should hold only one driver's licence. They have a treaty to honor each other d. Licence. One might get into trouble just because of that. If you have a canadian license and if you are working in detroit then you are allowed to inform DPS office within 10 days of your official resident in that city , which means witin 10 days of your employment.

You can exchange US for cdn license and vice - versa but to have both is illegal .

Its illegal to keep 2 licenses however you can keep one in your closet..

I also heard so...well, in that case does he apply for Canadian license as if he does not and never had a US license (and withstand some struggle in getting the Canadian license)? If so, is there any chance that they (Canadian license authority) will let them (US license authority) know that you got a Canadian license?
