Overall Oakville is the place where most of white peoples are living and as mentioned by TK most of them are highly educated too. now a days...they are mix in community in Oakville.....you can see lots of Chinese too but still you can easily noticed that most of population is still white in Oakville.

Dundas street north all new development area with most of new house with high prices.

House price is way high in Oakville compare to Mississauga, Milton, Burlington, Hamilton and Brampton area. You can not get detached house less than Million in Oakville unless house is too old and needs major repairs.

We are very soon moving to Oakville too because of my son's education . He is going to attend grade 11 in 2018. after intensive research we found most of the schools in Oakville are very good compare to Mississauga, Milton and surrounding area.

Not just school but environment in schools totally different than Mississauga what we noticed when we visited two high schools.

One more thing we found that the Whiteoak high school where my son is going for grade 11, in that school none of teachers are Desi....all of them white teacher with different and good attitude.

I am not saying that white teachers are great than Desi teachers but most important is "the attitude of teachers" leading kids towards positive in their life. (what we are believing...;) )

In Mississauga, right now we have almost 30% staff Desi teachers and some of teachers has same attitude like back home.

above statements may vary and people have different views but what we found I am sharing here.

"you get what you pay for..." ;)

Fido,

Don't want to scare you out of that purchase.(Buy) It is a nice area and a nice building too from the pictures that I can raise with that link provided by you. You want to know a few details and experiences from the CD group too. That is where I felt it might scare you. It is not meant to be. That is because of my critical analysis.

What bothers you is the ranking of the schools in that neighborhood and when I review the same they are just in the average grade, slightly above and pass grade. Nothing outstanding unless you visit them and check the honours list there in their foyer

Why you want to enter into that area should be based upon reports from a reliable source or from your group at work or that area is close to your work and nearer than before. If not, the area you are entering is just because it is Oakville. You should have a few friends or work mates or some links there in that subdivision. Otherwise you should take the total responsibility for your choice and blend in with the neighbours.

Now to the semi-detached house. It is priced slightly higher and it does not have garage to park a vehicle and if there is NO FULL and roughed in basement, then it should be undercut by another 80K. It is a pie shaped lot and I see the back yard, but cannot size the area and how it gets divided. One report says it has fully finished basement. Area is only 1051 Sq.Ft. (That price is too much)

No spot for you nor any one who visits you, on the road side. That is a must. You will lose just on this one point.

You might also need a NEW ROOF, so get it checked or include that in your purchase. The picture I see is an OLD one from Google.

Your furnace and water heaters are rented. Please check. That is what it says. The seller should pay for it. Not you. NO RENTALS.

It says that you do have 22 feet frontage. it could be the Max. If the pie shaped lot gives you more than fifty feet for you in the rear then, you can call it a break. Just 22 feet all the way to the back is a postage stamp size lot. Not a good deal.

The property seems to have been built before 1950. So please check. It was built for under a 100K. Ask for the sales history.

Looking at the asking price, if you can add a few more bucks to it, say 20K, you can enter into a better and newer home. Just my thoughts. But you must also qualify or cough up up front.

I will get back to you on the schools at a later date, if you want detailed assessment and if you decide to move in this area.

Good Luck. Wish you all the best.

FH.

I am having a laugh when some one says imbibe and ethics and children. I am also looking for a straw that I can bend. Mmmm.. It must be getting hotter already there in India.
