What do CD's feel about the Union Pearson express that is to open today?
The article in the star says that the tracks are 28 m above the road and that 25 kms from Pearson to Union station will be covered in 25 mins.
All this seems fine but I am worried about the $ 27.5 adult fare. I think it is a bit too steep.
Though the travel time of 25 mins is good, would not taking the TTC bus to Kipling station and then to Union station by the subway limit your adult fare to $ 3 or so. Yeah. It might take an hour for you to reach Union station but you do save $ 24.5.
Or have they now stopped TTC buses from coming to pearson airport?

27.5 is quite steep. Apparently the family pass is $55.

It will be a blow to the airport taxi cab drivers for sure. They will lose at least 25% of their business.

Revenge can be bitter sweet, but if u sit back and watch, KARMA can be pure entertainment.
I think Union Pearson Express is mainly aimed at Business Travellers who have no check in baggage and travel to/from airport during rush hours. The traffic is crazy during that time. I dont think it caters to family travellers, people travelling long distances like India with 2 check in baggages each. Taxi is definitely the way to go for such ppl. Business travellers who travel to Airport during rush hours won't mind this 27.5 $ at all. It is quite cheap considering the traffic that one has to go through during rush hours.
