Revenge can be bitter sweet, but if u sit back and watch, KARMA can be pure entertainment.
The restaurant's canot handle this.
Actually these kind of days are promoted by vested groups (restaurants, flower shops etc..) to increase their sales.
But having said that, this is the only day that many Goras and Goris will ever meet their dad and so to them it is a wonderful day of food and drinks. The cheepo Gora's and Gori's will also flood Tim Hortons.
But to us Desi's (who want to celebrate in Canada), I suggest that you use a Saturday to do it. You will have much more fun and the waiter will be able to handle you more personally.
When in Canada, I always avoid days like father's day, mother's day, children's day etc.. to go to restaurants or other eating places.

I am a Gents and not a Ladies.
Humorous Joke.
Yesterday was America's most confusing day:
Father's day ..😳
80% don't know whom to wish...
20% are scared some one will come and wish them..😜

We visited Swagrhuas yesterday evening and the wait time was 45 minutes ..in fact some people left w/o ordering also.
Also for those who may not be aware ( I wasn't despite visiting High Park since 2010) - Besides the Zoo , there's a castle adventure play grounds for kids .. built in 1998 and taking a team of architects and kids together .. We visited that also yesterday earlier and kids were having a very good time..
This accompanied with lots of picnic area / swimming pool , zoo , lake /pond , makes High Park a very good option for a kids day out .

Sorry to be blunt, but this stupidity is growing by leaps and bounds by each passing year. All this is about the Restaurant industry. So much frigging unnecessary pressure among the other important things in life.
Why do you need one 'I am expecting a gift' day to display your love and putting your loved ones in immense pressure - that too publicly? Aren't the birthdays there for this very reason already?

Hiren does these days stop anyone to show their love and appreciation for the rest of the year OR is there anyone who waits for the father / mother day to pamper their parents .
I think occasion forces oblivious people to ATLEAST show their appreciation once a year .
What more that most occasions bring friends and family together and give a reason to happily feast together . Few things in life probably need a "Bahana" as we all get busy with our daily routines .
I wish that we have occasions 365 days a year as my family is EXTRA joyful and we like to celebrate from core of our hearts .
