Spousal sponsor... Passport request problem...

Hi Massoodji and all,

I have put up an immigration file on April 1st to sponsor my wife. Sponsorship has been granted by CHC, Mississauga and file has been transfered to New Delhi for immigration process. The immigration file has been create on May 13 and my wife got a letter on May 20 for requesting passport to send to CHC, New Delhi, which she sent it on May 21. She has received an acknowledgement (postal acknowledgement) that document has received on May 25. Now, again she got a letter on June 9 to send her passport.

She has faxed a letter describing that she has already sent her passport and an acknowledgment, since then we haven't heard anything back from CHC. I am kind a worry about her immigration. Can someone put their two cents on this problem? Is there anyone who experienced such kind a problem? If so, what they have done to overcome this? And if possible, please include your timeline too.

Nothing to worry.

Even my wife got that request twice and the same thing happened to a friend's wife as well. Definately some bug there in one of the programs.

You don't even need to respond to the second request, just sit tight and wait, she'll get her immigration soon.

Thanks alot BlueLobster for sharing your experience and timeline. It is big relief for me o/w I was wondering about whether CHC have missed my wife's passport or what.

Is spousal PR process faster in USA than in India? Later this year I will sponsor my wife who happens to be in USA as a student now. I'm in Canada since past few months as a PR...

It's about the same time everywhere. Spouse applications are given top priority.
