Niagara falls motel rates very high for July due to Pan am games.:(

It's difficult to get Niagara motel booking for July this year due to Pan Am games. All motels seems to be charging sky rocket. Last year, ncrowd deals gave us $29 + Tax (free breakfast) per day and this year same motel is giving us $2200 + Tax for one week. 
Though our family friend who owns motel offered $79 per day...$550 inclusive of tax for one week. Friday and Saturday, it is fully booked and rates are $199+ tax during weekend.
Please postpone ur trip to Niagara falls for this month unless FH is ready to help us.

For GTA people I recommend visit falls over weekdays or if u really wanna plan summer weekend booked early 3 moths ahead
We only have real season three four month so v take maximum benefit out of it... Winter rates goes down to below $40
One more thing just to stay close to falls u pay almost 3 times more so try to book hotel 5 to 10 min drive from falls ,u will get lot cheaper and this areas r peaceful especially for family

When we have to visit Niagra and stay overnight we prefer staying at 'Residence & Conference Centre - Welland at Niagara College ' in the Niagra region , not very far from Niagra Safari which we visit the following day.
For CAD 100+ for a 2 bedroom suite , it does not burn a hole in your pocket . Basically student dorms converted as guest accommodation / hotel with continental breakfast ...

Dont bank on it on busy weekend ....entire Niagara region get totally full ... some week-ends ppl has to slip in car or go back driving in night....
just avoid week-end or prepare to drive back

'Residence & Conference Centre - Welland at Niagara College '
Similar was there in Sheridan college Brampton.
This was a very good place to stay instead of at the hotels in Toronto. 2 bedrooms , 2 tv, a kitchenette / dining room along with M/W and a toilet. Cleaned by the housekeeping. Kitchen and laundry was common. Price was just around $ 1067 a month. Free continental breakfast in Summer (we stayed in winter).
Unfortunately this is no longer offered now.
Having seen the service at Brampton, I would recommend this (Nigara college) for Desi's. I think even 2 families (small) can stay here. Price is $ 50 with continetal breakfast. Nothing can beat this.

I always confirm a reservation before leaving house . Checked yesterday @ this location for the weekend of Aug 8 and it was showing as available suite (similar to what TK has mentioned ) for $110/-
Not many people know about this , and not many are willing to stay a drive away from Niagra .... For the others it sure is a deal in the Niagra region

Niagara college welland is 25 kms frm Niagara falls and for 6 nights, they offered $400-450 for 2 adults and 2 kids for 2 bhk with free breakfast for July 12 to 17th but it's too far frm falls and there is no shuttle bus but they have activities for children.

If you are ever stuck due to some reasons and wanna stay 1-2 nights due to weather or whatever, send me msg and I shall give u a lady's number who has house opp to border very close to Niagara falls but mind you, she charges $50 per night and $10 extra for the children. She runs B&B . We were thankful for her help when we didn't get anything during new year. (after Niagara fall concert and fireworks).
