Never thought, I would get listing of properties below 400k but my realtor send me listing today. When I asked her to send listing of houses for sale for below 400K, she laughed and told me it's not possible now.

frankly speaking I never liked M1, M2, M3 postal code areas. Too quiet for my taste. :(

Looks like these condos are hot in Danforth area and people are investing. Its $200k and $50k for parking for 1 B/R+den.

Not at this time. stock investment is better, if you are smart enough to get in and get out .

What stocks are you talking about? India / USA / China or Canada.

If it is Canada, I donot think it would be better. Oil is coming down and with the Iran deal, Oil will be are low rates only. B of Canada, is thinking of lowering the rates and this would keep most industries depressed. Commodities are not likely to come up in pricing in the near term . Hence profit by Canadian stock markets is ruled out.

If it is India, it is a good bet. Recently India under went the 10% correction. THough now it is about 3 % up from the lowest point of the correction, people warn that the greece / china meltdown will bring it down. However Indian markets are poised for recovery and it is one of the markets which was relatively untouched by the greek / china crisis (as of now).

China stock market has been on a roller coaster ride and all point to it being lower as growth in China is slowing down.

USA markets, I am unable to comment.

So where are you going to take profits in the stock market?

I am sorry folks but its too funny for me when people ask for good investment help from others.

If everyone is so smart then there should be no poor in the world...

When its comes to investment such as stocks, Real estate - its all about time and luck.

There is not right or wrong investment - it's all about your smartness , will power and control

So instead asking for where should we invest , we should concentrate more on HOW TO INVEST - knowledge is the key and if you do not have proper knowledge there is no point jumping into this mess.

I had a look at the listings.

One house was good at 400 K. The problem is that it canot be rented.
It has no finished basement and the whole house was in one or 1.5 floors.

It is always to buy a house where you can live in the upper floors or in the basement while letting out to rent the basement or upper floors. If you rent the basement, you will get $ 700 a month whereas the ground and upper floor will fetch you $ 1500. This will help you in the mortgage as well as increase your property worth immensely.

If I had my way, I would put an internal secluded stairs in the front (some houses have it). so that I can divide a house in to 3 parts, Basement, ground and first. I would stay in the ground or the first floor, where was 2 levels I would put for rent which would gibe me around $ 1200 atleast a month and in which I can pay a significant part of the mortgage at this low levels of interest.

When I visited Montreal, many years back, many house had an external spiral straicase .
