For the past few elections I have hardly come across any positive platforms from any of the national parties or leaders. Mostly it is all about pointing the controversial policies and attributes of the opposition leader/party.

Economy was not Harper's folly, but distributing surplus cash from previous years to target voting groups with the sole purpose of winning election this year is something which I cannot commend Conservatives for. Sending troops and combat missions to Syria and Iraq was another poor decision by Harper's cabinet. There are other ways of combating terrorism, his step will only invite homegrown terror attacks and put Canadians travelling abroad at risk of being targeted. Up until before that Canadians were respected as non-aligned peaceful - which has changed now, irreversibly. Bill C-51 is another blunder and most desi's will not realize its implications until it is already too late.

Since the stepping down of Paul Martin, Liberals are yet to find 1 good leader to lead the party - which speaks of its 'strength'. The school boy is the last resort in the absence of anyone else - he reminds me of our own Pappu. The liberals will mostly gain from the anti-conservative votes but will not have enough to form the govt.

NDP are the standard brokers - just fight the elections and take what you win. After that keep negotiating event based deals - follow the direction where the wind blows. They got fluke gift last election due to anti-BQ votes - but will not repeat anytime in the future. I don't even recall if they have any policies of their own, except to criticize conservatives and anything anti-union. They operate like the B team of liberals.

In short, we are very well headed for a minority govt, which may be better than the bully conservative govt we have presently.

Looks highly likely. I am all for it - will keep the GOP, oops! Conservatives in checks and balances.

NDP doesn't stand a chance, cometh the Election day. They are a victim of their own devices.

He is the incumbent, so he'll naturally get targeted.

If Ontario's governance is the model that Liberals have in mind for rest-of-Canada, then we are doomed. Canada will get de-industralised and people hooked on to govt teat forever.

Govt. spending is still too high and cannot further grow without having a long-term impact on the economy. Mulcair understands this and intends to control the traditionally militant, tax-and-spend Dippers, just as Harper has somewhat controlled the Reform extremists. Mulcair is closer to Harper in economic policy than Trudeau. But you never know what kind of loons will be pulling Dippers strings, once they are voted into office.

Ideally, Harper's gotta go. He has been at the helm for too long. Sadly, Rahul...er...Justine is not suitable for the Job and Mulcair is, so far, too inconsistent.

If you analysis these parties including their Agenda, Candidates etc

My Two cents :-)

Conservative = BJP
Liberal = Con-Gress
NDP - Chaman Chaputiya party a.k.a AAP

3 Election campaigns in progress in the world we are concerned with , Canada , US ( lol) and Bihar. There is stark similarity in all three. Votes are almost equally divided among rivals ( as per opinions) and Every candidate is deemed non deserving.

Looks like (from opinion polls) that desis in the GTA are about to vote for the Liberals again...

Remember that Trudeau has said that "budgets balance themselves". Like his mentor Kathleen Wynne, Trudeau will run big deficits. Invariably this money will be p*ssed away on some scandal or the other. Longer term you will pay for that in the form of increased taxes. Longer term you will also pay for it in the form of higher interest rates when the Government's credit rating falls. Those higher interest rates will eventually drop real estate prices.....

Be careful what you wish for desis.....

Trudeau = Pappu. Born with a silver spoon in the mouth.

Harper was more on the lines of NaMo; the media disliked him too, until he became PM...
