Lemon, I will check flea market that you told.thanks
Hchheda, I took it to a shop and his findings were....my PC has a video card that is drawing double the power of what the original which comes with the system draws. Probably it has been upgraded by the guy from whom I had bought this system. Further he says two capacitors on the motherboard need to be replaced and it all could cost me around 150 bucks which is not worth it as TK pointed out. What confuses me is that it was running good for last six months and now only PSU has started drawing more power, though two capacitors definitely look faulty ......
TK, thanks for your advice. Can't I sell this one as it it and put some bucks from my pocket to get another one from kijiji.
Hasni,
What world are you in?
No body will buy it. Just throw it away and move on.
You can even get running computers in kijiji for as low as $ 10 or $ 20. In 2011, I sold a 40" TV (which I bought for $ 50) for $ 10. Just 2 weeks throwing, I could not find the remote and hence got a universal from Walmart for $ 12+ tax+ batteries. I gave the remote along with it.
Electronics has no value (if it is not working ) in Canada.
Even in India, they will not buy it

Dear FH, thanks for your detailed reply. Yes there is some very important data on the desktop that I need to retrieve. Please tell in simple word that how can I get it. I don't have much knowledge of computer hardwares. Also please say in simple words that how should I proceed step by step to get my PC repaired / disposed off. Pardon me if I sound bit ignorant.
Friends also share that if I go for a new PC with 200 CAD budget, which brand, config should I be having as I shall be doing some AutoCAD occasionally. And which is the best place to buy, are refurbished ones at best buy are good option.
Thanks

Thanks FH, first link is not coming to my mind, what it is about.
Thanks for the video, but I prefer getting it done from some desi computer shop for far lesser price that this adapter will cost. What do you say.
Salsa pls tell which brand you recommend.
A few years ago, once an year they used to have a computer show and there were oodles of stuff on sale. I picked up one and I have used it a few times just to get some stored data. The cost those days were Seven bucks plus tax. Now, it might be the same or plus or minus a few dollars. It is good to have one. But do salvage the data you want, which ever way you want to do it. As we say, six of one and half a dozen of the other.
I thought you were deep into the computer field. So, I was giving you a few tips to rebuild it. But it did not work out, so, I was rolling on the floor.......
You can't teach an old dog a few new tricks. I Failed.
FH.
