In pr card renewal I have received a letter to provide information of entry/exit from the countries of travel.
I already provided the copies of my passports showing entry and exit stamps. But they are asking to get the information from the country of travel. I only traveled to India and I also fulfill the residency requirements and my stay In Canada is close to 3 years out of 5 years. I also told them to get my entry and exit from CBSA (Canada Border Security Agency), but no help.
I have no idea what information I have to provide to prove that I fulfill the residency requirements other than the copies of my passport showing entry and exit stamps.
Can anybody please help me what could be done
For the countries where passport is stamped on entry and exit , that is sufficient .
For countries such as Canada where passports is not stamped on exit or you can tour to the US without getting your Passport stamped you will need to contact the Authorities below and get a response from them with regards to your proof of travel .
a. Canada : CBSA
b. USA : FOIA ( Freedom of Info Act) ..
Apply to them and submit the response you receive from them .
The above 2 are generally provided as go-to by CIC when they need this information. Better to confirm with CIC itself first and ask what proof / authorities they expect you to contact .

Fido.
I called the agents many times and they are repeating the same thing as to provide entry and exit from country of travel. Since I already authorized CIC to get information from CBSA {There is a check box on application form to authorize CIC to get info from CBSA), but they are ignoring my request.
If the CIC needs it , to gather the information from CBSA or other places is your obligation , not theirs .

I have one more question.
Whenever a person exits Canada, does CBSA knows that exit date or not?
Thanks zindabad
Actually this pr card is for my mother and she is old and dependent upon and there is nothing in her name like electricity bill etc.
The best I can do is to resend the color photocopies of passport (all pages). CIC is already authorized to get info from CBSA. They don't even explain why can't they get info from CBSA.
Both cic and CBSA websites also clearly state that if I authorize them to get info from CBSA then I don't have to provide travel history proof from CBSA. But they overlook that information and ignore it.
Looks like CIC creates this hassle purposely and knowingly without any reason. CBSA has all the entry and exit information for any person and it is the one source to get information and it is far easier and quick by the CIC to get that information once they have been given the authority to collect that information. Just sending the bills or visiting physician does not prove that person was present in Canada for so many months. It just proves that person was present only on that day when he visited the physician.
Stamps of the passport has nothing to do and if you lose your old passport then that information will be gone far ever.
For now I am going to send them the passport copies and telling them that you have got the authorization to get info from CBSA. Also asking them to tell me the reason why they cannot get info from CBSA. If they can't I will not be able to get the info also.
Thanks all who responded
