Hi Guys,
We are planning to go India via Dubai and we wants to explore Dubai before reaching to India.
When I sent my tickets enquiry to an agent he send me the below itinerary for Etihad Airways . Price is not bad Per person $1275 (incl Taxes)
1 EY 140E 25FEB 4 YYZAUH NN1 1400 1205 26FEB
2 EY5424E 26FEB 5 AUHXNB NN1 1400 1520
3 EY5417E 01MAR 2 XNBAUH NN1 1000 1120
4 EY 226E 01MAR 2 AUHAMD NN1 1435 1910
5 EY 227E 25MAR 5 AMDAUH NN1 2115 2310
6 EY 141E 26MAR 6 AUHYYZ NN1 0255 0930
Itinerary says Toronto to Abu Dhabi to Dubai and after three days coming back from Dubai to Abu Dhabi to Ahmedabad.
is anyone have a first hand experience how they transit from Abu Dhabi to Dubai and vice-versa?
is any Flight or Bus or any other arrangements by Etihad Airways from Abu Dhabi to Dubai?
is cost cover on flight itinerary or we have to pay extra fare?
We all have a Canadian passport so do we have to get visa in advance for both countries ?( i.e. Abu Dhabi and Dubai)
I can ask same questions to agent but we have a few bitter experiences with agents, because somehow they need a business and they are always say "Do not worry" everything is included but in reality end up with something else.
your advice and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
regards....
As far my experience goes, they take you by bus from Abu Dhabi to Dubai.
Canadian passport doesn't need a visa.
ABu Dhabi and Dubai are like two provinces of United Arab Emirates.
Abu Dhabi to Dubai is 1.5 hours by road.
Fido has lot of tips about Dubai.
Except me, rest of my extended family lives in Dubai, so never really did sight seeing in my whole life. The old place next to the tunnel is something I liked.... Thats about it.

Old Place next to the tunnel ... hmmm you are referring to Deira ... it covers the Gold Souq as well ..
RBO ~ What JRF has said stands ... You will have to check out your luggage @ AUH and there will be a minibus waiting outside the Airport to take you to DXB which is 1.5 hour smooth comfortable drive .. This bus terminates @ an Etihad Office from where you will have to take a cab to your hotel ...The bus is covered by Etihad .
While returning the same route will be followed .
You might wish to check with your Travel Agent or Gala Travels if an alternative route (through some other Airline combination ) is possible which takes you via Dubai as the advantage here is that you would save potential 5 hours traveling too & fro AUH and chances are that the hotel you have booked in will pick you up for free from the Airport .
If you have not made hotel reservations , I would strongly recommend Gateway Hotel .. it is a sister hotel of Admiral Plaza - a much newer hotel very well located (5 mins walk fro Meena Bazaar) and sumptuous breakfast which includes Indian items also ... But if you find another hotel , that should also be good as you cannot go wrong in Dubai ...When checking in , ask for a bigger room as some rooms are bigger by design .
Good Luck !!
Canadians do need a Visa but it is stamped on arrival and is valid for 30 days.

thanks a lot JRF and Fido..as always your advice and suggestions are great with excellent solution..... no doubt at all....
any idea how to book not great but reasonable Hotel in Dubai? I checked online for Gateway Hotel but just hotel price is coming 4 nights around CAD $1496.
is it any B&B or apartment kind of accommodation?
I am assuming that Dubai, Abu Dhabi are safe places, i.e. is ok if we are walking around in night time alone or take a cab?
am I right?
Try Booking.com or hotel.com ...I checked and 4 nights 3 adults +1 kid is showing 650 CAD... which is on the higher side ...I would budget CAD 100 - 115 per night for a family of 4 ...
Check out Airbnb or Priceline to book a good price ...
Dubai is safe .. no problem at all ... but avoid the ultra low priced ones which may be used for nocturnal activities
And go through some intermediary website like mentioned above as not only that gets you a good price but better service also as the hotels are always concerned about ratings on these sites.
