Hi,
I would like to know detail for applying visitor visa for parents to visit to spend time with grand children during summer holidays. How to apply?
Is it advisable to apply from Bangalore or here? what are the documents needed.
I got following documents list when I go through various sites
1. Invitation letter ( Do I and my husband need to have separate invitation letter or we need to write collectively? We both are working)
2. Our visa papers and passport
3 our account statements & T4
4parents passport
anything else needed?
Thanks
JUST for your INFO..: From C.I.C.,
We received sufficient applications to meet the Parent and Grandparent Program cap this year. The application period is now closed but will re-open on January 3, 2017, with a cap of 10,000 new and complete applications.
That does not mean you cannot get a VISITOR'S visa. They need all or most of the details you have gathered and a few more mentioned here.
Each one needs a separate invitation letter. Because you have to provide your Passport Details and a few details about you in it.
Generally a Tourist visa/Visitor's visa is valid for Six Months. So, you should have a pre booked ticket valid for your stay, but not exceeding Six months. Alternately an open ticket, to return. (Pre paid)
The funds you will bring into Canada for your spending. (CASH you carry Should not exceed a sum of $,10,000 Canadian, total of BOTH of you. that is the total of ALL the currencies you carry) Please carry a few loose coins for your use at the destination. (For Baggage Carts if it calls for or for a Phone Call also.) Now they have FREE Baggage Carts here in Canada and since the start of last year, you can make a FREE call at the destination to the party that comes to pick you up or one who will hold a CARD with your name at the pick up area. (No more TAZERS)
Most of us do not want to let the whole world know how much of a salary that we are making. That includes my spouse too. So, I fill the application on line and send the financial history to C.I.C. in Canada. The Indian counter part deals with the application and asks you IN for an interview and all of your financial standings and also for a Police Clearance etc., there. Also, they get a third party to verify everything for all of us.
GUIDE 5772, why do I have to know. This is just to get you to prepare for an application..:

Where to send.. : http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/offices/apply-where.asp
SUPER VISA. .: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/supervisa-who.asp
Carry a copy of this invitation with you and also all the details of the sponsor such as phone number and the address, where he lives and works etc., etc., on you and have it available, if they ask.

If you have traveled out of your country for touring etc., then a list of those countries visited and the dates and times, from your passports, tickets, itineraries etc., is advised.
FH.
Generally people also want to visit USA, so, obtain a tourist visa for the longest period from right there, prior to start.
A travel and health insurance policy, plus baggage insurance and trip cancellation insurance. Your Drivers licence. Meds you need daily for the duration with a Doctor's letter or his prescription list and recommendations he gave to you. Good to know the Airline name and Flight Number and the route and the destination also.

Thank u. Just to clarify i am not planning to apply for super visa. I was planning to apply for temporary resident visa as we are currently not on PR. Anything changes for this? or procedure remains same?
No one need to know if you are a PR or on a TRV yourself.
Hence the leads provided are for all kinds of VISA.
{Sponsorship is closed for this year. Super Visa, you do not need, Hence it is only a Visitor Visa for the Parents. I am sure they will get it}
NO. No changes to the procedure. You Provide them with an invitation, which will help EACH Parent, if the Invitation contains their specific Passport Details age, employment etc., in it. (They also call it an AFFIDAVIT, if and when it gets notarized. It has more value.)
What tells the Immigration Officer that they will return back is a letter from their employer stating that he is on a few days vacation and he will return back and resume where he left off. (If Mother is unemployed, then, specify that she is a full time house wife.)
Their Fixed Assets, and their financial standing provided to the I.O. preferably from the Bank Manager, where he normally transacts business, will give the I.O. that they have Fixed Assets and are financially well off and hence will return back to India after the vacation.
If they have an insurance coverage for their duration of the trip from India or from here in Canada thro' you, will help a lot. Provide them with the policy details also.
If they are buying their own travel tickets in India with a return date in it, will also be an indication of good financial standing, plus confirming their return after the visit.
I am providing here with a little extra help and the procedure will be the same for the Visitor Visa too. So, prepare well for their journey. Currently the fares are very low, so take advantage of the same.
Good Luck.
FH.
