Hi,
Welcome to Canada, the land of opportunities!!
Could you throw some light on the expenses you incurred before taking the rental accomodation like: Airport Pick up charges, Hotel accomodation (what all was included ), meals, initial mode of transportation expenses for completeing formalities etc.etc.?

Good Luck!

We took the hotel shuttle (Quality) and we were lucky to book a deal over expedia wherein we got five days for 165 CAD. I think we got the deal because it was just after Victoria Day.We hired a car from Enterprise (weekend 9.99 deal) and applied for SIN, did the apartment hunting, opened bank account etc.. For OHIP, we took the bus, after we got the rental agreement.
Regarding meals, we stuck to subway most of the time and the hotel had complimentary continental breafast.

Eventually after moving to the apartment, we did most of our shopping using public transportation (Square one is even walkable in this weather).

However, we did a whole lot of running around in four days and were totally exhausted.

And, thank you for your good wishes. I would appreciate any leads about finding a job..
:D
