Hi
Are there any Tamilians or anyone from Bangalore moving to Toronto?
I need some advice on
How is the weather in Toronto in Feb? My Landing expiry date is Feb 28
Also, Is there any whatsapp group to keep in touch?
Thanks
If you land in February, you will be arriving in peak winter. You could even be looking at temperatures in -20 C range with windchill and snow or snowstorms(this varies from year to year) . Get appropriate winter clothing like hats, mittens/gloves, jackets and shoes/winter boots. If you are not able to find those in Bangalore, you can get them after arriving here but you should at least have some winter clothing to get you by for a few days.
There is Tamil Association called MACA in Toronto (http://www.macatoronto.ca/). There may be a few more as well, you can just Google for them.

Hi Raj,
Thanks.
Yes. I guessed so. But as of now no option as I just got my PR and I will have to land by Feb.
I will check the link for MACA.
Your best guide in Tamil matters in Trono is TamilKuruvan (TK). Let us hope he finds your thread. He is in the vicinity of Bangalore at this time so you maybe able to visit him and get plenty of details. If you meet him in person for advice, you better have a very thick notebook: that man knows so many nitty-gritty details about living in Trono you may need two notebooks to jot down all his varied, in-depth advice. He can swiftly advise you where and how to find clothing and paraphernalia for daily living; as well as show you how to live frugal or next to no expenses in your early days. Weather can be nasty but it will also show you what Trono is made off.... with no further delays. Good luck.
Thanks for upvoting me Global India.
To the OP:
I will be sending you my email address and cellphone number asa PM. Go to your Canadian desi inbox and get the details and call me.
I am based in Cochin Kerala but a Tamilian from Trichy town.
I can give you a lot of tips including how to settle down, find a cheap house, get free winter cloths from the Salvation army and also acccess the food banks in peak winter.
The key is to save your money and get to know things till March or April end. From April or May, you can start to venture out to give interviews.
