Hello we are a family of 4. Our older one is in 5th grade and we will be relocating to greater toronto area. for work reasons mississuaga is a good location for us.
I am looking for recommendations on good school districts, and areas to initially rent and maybe buy at a later point.
Since this is already a change for our son, i dont want to move again soon after if i am not happy with the neighborhood, school etc. hoping for some inputs from other parents.
A bit of background: our son has been studying at a good school district in USA with quite a few Indians in the neighborhood. looking for something similar to help him fit in.
I hope the move can be an easy one since he is very hesitant on the change.
Also want to add: our younger one is 3. what kind of childcare is available. daycares vs home care. what would be approximate cost for the care?
You have made a good choice.
Mississauga has a lot of nice places. I would recommend the Square 1 area or the West of it.
Next is the Eglington and Hurontario area.
Another upcoming area is around the Hurontario and the 407 area (Was developing in 2011 when I left).
All these palces have good schools in which 50 - 90 % of the students (depending on the locations) will be Indians. On recommendation 1 and 2, there will be a lot of rich middle eastern children.
For 3 year old, there are lot of local Desi as well as professional daycare options are available.
Welcome to Mississauga.

Full time daycare cost can range from $ 800 to $ 1600 a month. $ 800 will be in a desi home. $ 1600 will be professional day care with lot of India or philipino or chinese day care agents.
If you leave your child with some Punjabi or Srilankan grandmother, it can dip as low as $ 500 a month.
