Hi,
My parents left Canada in 2008, since they could not settle well and returned to Dubai. From Dubai now we are back in India, I am pursuing my graduation in fine arts in Delhi and want to pursue masters in Canada.
Now, my questions are:
1) When applying for student visa will my expired PR status be a roadblock?
2) After coming over to Canada, and spending 2 years can I renew my PR?
Frankly when my parents moved back I didn't have much say.
Please advice
Sunjoy

Around 2005 internet speeds were not that good in India, now with Kindle for which I have my aunts USA card added gives me ability to purchase more range of books even the ones not available in India. That is what my father meant by shrinking of the world.

But it will be sure well worth your efforts, if your Parents will join you and resume where they left off at a later date and reactivate their dreams.
You can pave their way and you can build a stairway into Canada. It is a great country to get into.
Good Luck.
FH.
All I can say is listen to your Dad ! Your parents know what they are doing.
Do NOT make the same mistake, they did 10 yrs back of coming to Canada. If they thought Canada was good for you and for them, they would have stayed behind.
There is a reason, why they left. That was for your well being. That reason, still remains.
Your parents learnt from their mistake, and so should you.
You will be in a much worse shape if you come here, than they were 10 yrs back when they came.
I will and can guarantee you that !
Thank you everyone, its a done decision for me. I will pursue my bachelors in India and then from there see what life has in store for me.

Thank you Fido and FH, I really appreciate your inputs.
This helps me now focus on next steps, which will be to do my best in Fine arts in India. Complete my masters and from there I will figure my future path.
Just out of curiosity, last week I was at a immigration place and they showed a pile of applications for student visa. All of them going for community college in Canada, from what I gathered professional colleges with decent ranking in India is lot better than these community colleges. Not sure, what these guys are trying to escape.

Community colleges like Sheridan college, Humber College, Seneca College, George Brown college are a JOKE - sub standard Canadian education - fat white professor - community colleges in Canada will go bankrupt....hmmm....you are out for a Dangal with an agenda.
I have studied in a community college and have a good job. All my colleagues who are in touch with me are also well settled. Do you think that these community colleges are making fools of thousands of students for so many years?
For PMP, there used to be a course for 6 weeks where they prepare you to write the PMP examination. They don't provide you the skills - they just polish your management skills. To get the job, one should have other soft skills which are more important than getting PMP certification.
Immigration or study abroad is not 'One Size Fits All' sort of thing. Everyone is unique with his/her unique characteristics, qualities, skills, expectations, requirements, goals of life etc. We have exceptions in life. Exceptions cannot become rule.
