Hi All,
Just to quickly introduce myself here, I am an Indian citizen currently working in US for the last 10 years and my niece is a Canadian citizen. Both me and my spouse have adequate work experience. We are planning to immigrate to Canada via the Federal Skilled Worker - Express Entry category and apply for PR.
While we were initially considering the route of hiring a immigration lawyer / consultant to assist, after reading through some articles here, we believe we can accomplish this ourselves if we understand the process thoroughly and is fairly straightforward without jeopardizing our chances if we had to discuss our options with an attorney.
We would like to ask the immigration experts here -
1) if both me and my spouse should take the IELTS Language test (or) just me since I will be the principal applicant for my family
2) For bank balance certificate after we receive an ITA(invitation to apply), is it okay to provide a 6 month statement from NRO account --- if we dont get a job in Canada that is?
3) Is it possible to apply for PR to my parent as soon as we receive PR or wait for citizenship - I will be her sponsor? In the meantime, How do I apply for Super visa for my parent? Can we apply for the super visa now (or) wait till the PR is received. How long does that process take?
4) Lastly, any trusted consultants to find a job offer in Canada?
I sincerely appreciate any valuable assistance you can offer us here.
Thanks so much!!
Let us start blow by blow..
1) I don't want to make it look easy. On the contrary YOU should make it look very easy for us and give us your show of strength. Also make it as a team effort and when you Both do that, IELTS will be your forte' and it will be nice to show and add the same to your resume and get an entry first and then a GOOD Job to go with it., That should be your aim. Canadian Immigration Values it very much and gives you better scoring towards your entry into Canada.
2) You can show your Assets in any form. It is what you can bring into Canada in your wallet that counts. In short, they are looking for READY Cash. Greenbacks will be even better. Today they are at a 35% premium. (Plus the bank commission charges 3-4%)
3) Generally, if you look into the Family sponsorship, They will ask you to show a few years of work (Three to be exact) and TAX Filing, here we call it the NOA, Notice Of Assessment, before you can sponsor them. But that does not stop you from getting them in on a Visitor's Visa or a Super Visa and extending their stay. {First try and get an Entry into Canada and both of you should get a good job to settle down.} PL. Make SURE that they all are not left out of this deal when you are filing your application to Immigrate. INCLUDE Them too.
4) You look like you know the ropes and all, even before you get in. SO, you can get all of the leads from the volunteers here who will provide you with all of the list of HEAD HUNTERS and a few good openings even before you set foot into Canada.
Wish you BOTH all the luck. Now get the ITA before August and you are invited for our PICNIC. Or you can invite us for yours in October!
Good Luck. Hope this helps.
FH.
