Generally speaking the better the schools, the more expensive the area is. I hear very good things about the Bayview Collegiate's IB program, but I guess that's in Richmond Hill map residential map these days ...(used to cover a portion of Markham once)

If open I would also advise you to take a look @ John Fraser school district in Mississauga - you stay close to the West where most Indians are plus the school also is excellent.

Thank you this is very helpful

Yes as Coolies and Labourer's.

If working in a desk job, professional environment in downtown Toronto as a pro making $80K+ is your idea of laborer/coolie, what can I say.

I have come across very smart Chinese people at my workplace.

The prime reason why schools are highly rated in Richmond Hill / Markham / Chinese areas is that the community focuses on education and academics which are key to success in professional world.

Markham is a great area to live - however do a detailed check as there are varying level of pockets in Markham. e.g. Angus Glenn is a very affluent neighborhood, whereas you will find some very run down areas near Steeles.

If you are looking for pure desi neighborhood, Mississauga is your best bet.

Fido is right - check the school rankings at Fraser and then check each school boundary / bus eligibility etc.

Also point to note, In canada you can never guarantee you will be near your workplace forever, work keeps changing rapidly! Hence buy a place where you love to live. A central location in GTA would be your best bet.

$ 80 K + for a brown desi or for a Chinese...LOL. In your dreams. Next thing you will be telling me Black people are making $ 80 K +.

Who will drive cabs and work in Convenience stores, if desis and Chinese make $ 80 K + ?

That salary is reserved for Gora Saahib .

Don't give false hopes to Desi immigrants and ruin their life. Tell them the truth and reality about the Winter Wasteland called Canada.

I have seen a very few blacks but Indians and Chinese - yes a lot and they are growing .. and this is from my experience working in down town for the past 5 years.

Where do you think the pass outs from the highest rated schools in Markham / Richmond Hill go to ? .. Both of these are Chinese dominated.

Well for me and the ones I know it is not a winter wasteland but a winter wonderland !!

icame - Sorry, I will have to disagree with this, or perhaps my exposure is limited to well earning desi immigrants!

1. They go to US, where else ?

2. Then the people you know are very very less. You need to go out more, and see what more than 90 % of desis and chinese are doing in the Winter Wasteland.

Only brainwashed immigrants, who are duped into coming here, but don't want to admit it, think the Frozen Tundra is a wonderland.
