I am moving to Truro city, NS in September from India this year. Could someone please tell me about life in NS, Accommodation expenses, food expenses, job opportunities and the most important thing is PR chances?

What is basic wage rate per hour?

And can i drive with my full Indian driving licence. If yes, for many months/year.

TRURO N.S. is on the Interchange of TCH 104 and TCH 102. Very busy location day or night. But the whole Province is in the doldrums of unemployment and prosperity there is a word found only in the dictionary. It is a backward Province and jobs are far a few. if you are a Mechanic or an accountant, it will be easy to find something suitable. Wages have been always low, so you will be hard pressed for cash. But rents have been standardized and they are nearly HALF as much as in the big cities, You might find only a few of the Indian Spices and produces that you will be needing for start and you may have to make a trip often to the Major Centers such as Halifax or Dartmouth or Bedford also for your LARGE purchases. Get your D.L. validated from India. Also get a good report from your Insurance agent. Find the standard questionnaire on Google web links and they all are Multiple Choice questions and you might have studied them before.

RMV Rules and regulations.. :You can Drive for 90 days. If a resident then complete the process within 30 days.

Accomodations for a few days, till you find a job and a residence close by. Please rent an Apartment. Rents will be anywhere from $600 to $700 for a decent 1 BR apt. Check for other costs. Such as: Hydro, Phones, Internet etc., Some of them are only good till August. If you are dropping in in the Month of September, please look for other accommodations prior to landing here. The nearest International Airport is in HALIFAX and you will need ground transportation from the Airport to Troro.N.S.
