Hi,
I am planning to visit Montreal with a really big family (12 ppl + 1 dog) and was wondering if anybody could suggest a cheap and clean motel in and around Montreal.
We r planning to stay for the coming weekend (Friday+Saturday nights).. I heard there a lot of Indian/Asian motels around Montreal but I am not sure about there whereabouts.. Please if anybody has any info on this let me know.
Thanks

Hi df....
I'm not sure about the motels, however incase you are not aware this is the final weekend for this years jazz fest

I was there last weekend until late night and the place is packed with tourists. Normally, this is peak season and finding accomodation cheap is not very easy.
However, maybe BL can help with some tips. He was here a few weeks ago. I'll see if I can come back with any useful info if other montrealers here do not beat me to it.

Thanks Jake.. I will try to attend the fabulous Jazz Festival if time permits. Do you think it will be there on Saturday?

july 11th is the last day so saturday should be fine and overwhelmingly crowded too.
I think montreal can handle 12 more folks + one dog

Although my dog is a big Jazz Fan,I am sure they won't allow dogs in the Jazz festival.
Thanks for your inputs Jake. I am looking forward to enjoy the mountains and great churches of Montreal.. and may be some water rafting fun in one of the rivers .. and enjoy some of the great french desserts available only in Quebec/Montreal..

Also dont forget to visit the old port when you load up on poutine
I find that this is a good link for tourists.
http://www.tourisme-montreal.org/B2C/00/default.asp
also contains a link to motels.
I also checked with a few colleagues and they are a bit pessimistic about finding cheap accomodation with the jazz fest going on. So maybe do a search for places in west island in the link I have provided. As long as you have cars...its just 20 mts to downtown.
