Hi, I've been working for the past 10 yrs in saudi arabia. My points on self-assessment are 69. What are my chances if I apply directly to the London office? Pls advise. Thank you
Your chances are same either way. Going through an Agent does not mean that you will have a better chance. Your points will be calculated the same way irrespective of the fact whether you apply directly or through an agent. The agents are not in a position to influence the authority's decision in any way.
You are already above qualifying points so you should be able to qualify easily. Neverthyless i would still recommend representation through good lawyer as lawyer becomes handy when there are glitches sometimes.
A good lawyer or agent will have knowledge of current trend and will be in position to guide you from pit falls. I am talking about representation of your case. Once simple off line talk can cost you your case. Four years of wait... I think one shouldn't leave anything to chance..

I also got my immigration from Saudi Arabia - London office in 5 months only( but that was back in 1999). But i still believe that even now it wont take as long from Saudi Arabia as it is taking when one apply from India.
As far as using a lawyer/agent is concerned , i believe its a wastage of money if your points are above the required score.I have yet to see a single person who applied thru an agent and was happy with the services received! But this is my personnel opinion so it comes down to your own judgement.
Good luck anyway......
Hey alias...thanks for the positive reply. I will be applying along with my wife & kids so I'm concerned that a big amount in processing fees may be lost if our application is rejected. Also, is there a typical format that one should follow when preparing our file for submittal or should I just follow the checklist instructions. Thanks.
