We landed in Canada in Aug 2002, our PR status will expire in Aug 2005

1.After being in the middle east I moved alone to Canada in JUly 2004.
2. Now my wife is pregnant and is in Dubai . If she delivers in Dubai which is in Jan 2005 what is the status of my child. How can I bring my new baby to Canada before the expiry of my wifes PR status which expires in Aug 2005. I understand the Immigration does not give Visit Visa for the new born and PR process for the newborn will take around over a year. How do I go with this.

She can fly to Canada and give birth here. If child is born outside Canada, you can sponsor your child and he/she'll get PR in approx. 2 months. NOT ONE YEAR.

Try and get her to Canada b4 the 7 months as there are chances of delivering the baby anytime thereafter and the hassle of additional application for the child but if the child is born here the child will be a citizen much before you two.

1) Is it a too big hassale to sponsor a baby to Canada born in India to PR parents?

2) Is the timeline 2 months, or more?

3) What are the papers that are required for the baby and what are the fees involved?

For some personal reasons, my wife is not very eager to give birth in Canada.

Q 2. Can one apply for PR visa for the baby, once in Canada on visitor's visa ?
