I was wondering, if anyone has any experience with this firm ? Or is it a scam / con - artist ?

Hi Ottawa_Nerd,

I was surprised on your surprise finding a desi lying with a straight face. Our desi community has perfected con and deception to a fine art. It starts from our home country when the immigration 'experts' sell you on Canada and promise the moon. The fees for deception is close to what BHCareers charges here.
After a desi with dreams in his eyes lands at Pearson he is ripped off by cart guys and taxi drivers-again many of them desis.
The dreamy desi then lands in a basement (again in a desi's house) where he is told that the rent has to be paid in cash. His life is made miserable with constant restrictions on use of utilities.
Still not any wiser he lands an $8 per hour (cash) job in a desi factory or shop. He is 'laid off' and rehired so that he does not become eligible for benefits.
Somehow other desis become aware of his presence and he starts getting phone calls and unsolicited visits from 'financial experts' selling RESP, insurance and what not. (Unethical practices in RESP selling has recently been highlighted by the Ontario Securities Commission).
What BHCareers has been doing here is what our head-hunters did a few years ago during the H1 boom.
The morale of the story is-a sucker is born every minute. Remember the old saying-if something is too good to be true it probably is not.

Though the canadiandesi.ca cannot prevent deception and fraud but it can certainly help in posting information about what to do when one is a victim of con-artists.

TG, you re absolutely right. In fact, when I go back home, I want to submit a couple of articles in various newspapers of India, highlighting the pitfalls of these "immigration" consultants. They are nothing but con-artists / SCAM-sters and need to be exposed for what they are. At that time, I hope to direct readers to this site and verify all their doubts.

Back to that program, I really feel sorry for Sonny Gujral and others. Think abt this, he managed multi million dollar companies and look what is his state now.

In this thread I found someone who said that he earned 2 Lakh / month. If that person is reading this... pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Stay where you are and enjoy your life. Do not even think of coming here !

It is a problem of confidence crisis.
When you advise the prospective immigrants, they do not believe you. They say "khud to masti maar raha hai aur hame aane ko mana karta hai". This is always preceded with a four letter word. They want to come here and find out for themselves. When they do discover the TRUTH they cannot go back because of kya-muh-dikhayenge syndrome.
Nearly 10% do go back after spending all their money. We have no information whether they are happy over there or not. I am sure of one thing that after going back they are much wiser and see the things in a different perspective. You know -heena rang laati hai pathar pe ghis jane ke baad.
Philosophically speaking I find a lot of similarity between migratory birds and immigrants. In their journey from point A to point B, the migratory birds sustain a whole set of species that preys on them. But they have not stopped migrating. So despite all the hazards there will always be immigrants willing to take risk of the unknown. And that is how the life goes on.
