My first job was in the Jun 1997.
I applied for iimigration in Nov1999. I was 25 years old then.
I got married and then added my wifes name to the application. Then came our daughter and she was added too.

14 Weeks back we got a interview waiver , 2 weeks back (2004) we recieved our medical papers... finally. Today I am 29yrs old.

When i started my job, I was drawing RS 7500. After 2 years of working, i was frustated and wanted a break !! . To me that break meant Canada Immigration? Why ? Because other around me were applying. I followed the herd. I had no clue what i was getting into....

The day i got my waiver and till today, I cannot wait to check the internet for information on Canada, do calculations and redo them on finances, goods to follow, place etc etc .... I sometimes go to the extend of chewing my wifes brains out.

Today I earn 2lakhs a month, live in a nice 2BR apartment, drive lancer car and a very settled life. I have gone through the struggle to make it. Do i start again ?
Maybe someone can guide me ..........

Think twice, no, hundred times before you move to Canada. If you are doing good, saving decent money, and hope to stick around in Dubai for couple of more years, then stay there. Other option would be take your PR, go back to Dubai, work for some more time, and then decide whether to move to Canada or not. Use the trip as a vacation and take your PR etc.

Hi
Thank for your prompt reply.
Wont i get taxed 33% on my income earned in Dubai after taking my PR Card from Canada. I thought world income was taxable, once u are landed immigrant.

You will be taxed only if you've established permanent ties to Canada. Taking a PR card does not mean that you have established permanent ties to Canada. So, you should be allright if you come here take your PR card and go back to Dxb.

As regards whether you should immigrate or not, well it's entirely based on your personal choices and preferences.

All the best

Regards
Daks

Ansh mere Bhai... agar aap humse chhote ho toh apne "bade" ki ek baat sun lo...
he he.. just found out hum aapse bade hain ;) !!

For the amount of money you are earning, do not even think of stepping out anywhere. A common excuse ppl give is " Want to give my kids better life" In that case, send them here for an undergraduate education.

You will be hit with major disappointments if you think you can earn that kind of salary here in Canada right after you land. However, if you plan to set up ur business then I would say that you do a very very thorough search before you come here.

In addition, make sure you click the first link in my signature. Read abt the pitfalls and how fellow desi's got duped !

Best of luck :)
