hi massod ji,
my name is bhavesh (mumbai), iam planning to come to canada for doing my masters in 2005 on a student visa , i have some questions regarding the matter

1] after completion of the masters , how much time does the canadian gov. gives the student to find a job (i have heard that the gov. gives absolutely no time )
2] is it complusory for the student to find a job in his own feild ( what if a student is ready to do any kind of job )
3] when can i apply for a P.R (as soon as i reach in canada, can i file papers or can i file them after i get a job after my masters )

any help from you will be highly appreciated

Bhavesh,

What OTN means is that you should not post your question in two different places on the forum.

Yes, if you want Massood to answer your question, it needs to be in "Immigration Expert" section, which your original question was not. But you can always send me a Personal message to move it from one section to another if you feel you want to move it.

Anyways, I'm deleting this post in a few hours, I'll move your question to the original thread. Also please post any further questions regarding this matter on that same thread.

Thanks OTN.

bhavli:

1. 90 days
2. preferable for work permit purposes
3. you can apply anytime as long as you meet minimum requirements [presently 67 pts for skilled category]

thanks massodji for replying,
i have some questions
1] my age currently is 21 , after the completion of my masters my age will be 24, so after the completion of my masters in comp sc. will my points be 67 , so that i can apply for an PR

2] also after my masters , is it necesary to find a job in my own feild ( computers) or if i dont get any computer related job in the permitted 90 days and if iam getting some other job ( waiter, store boy, pizza delivery etc. or something like this) then will the immigration departement allow me to stay in canada

3] if i cant do other jobs that i have mentioned in 2] then what other options do i have if i wish to stay in canada after my masters degree

thank you ( in advance ) and continue the good work

Well I'm not Massood ji :p but let me answer your questions in short

1) Yes you can apply , but in case you have to apply thru Buffalo you need to show that you have atleast one yr legal status in canada

2) you have to satisy immi officer in order to get work that job is realted to studies...so NO to ODD jobs

3)go back to school no study permit
