Remember Cheap tickets mean three things:

1. Lousy service
2. Bad luggage handling
3. Additional charges (ex: cancellation, change the date) are going to be very expensive...

very true, who wants that tension on top of what we are going through, just being a desi, i happened to think of cheap tickets first!

Lufthansa is offering fare sale till June 17th (usually peak season). The price is $1575 inclusive of everything. If anybody knows anything cheaper than that around that time, please let me know. But I'm not looking for a 2/3 stop middle eastern airline, just one stop in Europe and that's it.

In my personal experience, I've found Lufthansa to be very good while flying to India. I've also flown Air India in the past and that was pretty good too. Heard good reviews of British Airwasy as well.

Had some really bad experiences on Air France, I personally would not recommend it.
