Hi Guys,

We have been discussing very useful information of the Jobs that are available in prioivate sector.

It would be nice to share the experiences of senior desis for the Scene in Federal / County Jobs...and what could be their requirements of taking them....

1. Do we really need to have a Canadian Citizenship to apply ? :h

2. As an immigrant to apply for those jobs, do we really need to have special / additional skills / education / experience etc. as well...

3. Do these Job(s) exists in reality....(For an Immigrant) as I understand from CD that there is a lot of \"MARA MARI\" in getting good Jobs even in Pvt. Sector.

Senior Guys, Please through some light on this issue as well....

regards

As a federal employee I can tell you that Desi's applying to federal jobs is a waste of time if they aren't fluent in French.

This doesn't mean you can take a couple of courses in French...that doesn't fly anymore.

They want you to be fluent...like in English so that you speak French all the time, can work in French, can live in French.

Even if Job is not in Quebec???

OR say ITs a programmers Job situated in Ontario or any nonfrench speaking Province, then why would we need french?

Hi Nicefolks20,

Thanks for the vital information...As I understand that you will need to invest like 3~4 years to reach to a good level of french...I have learnt some basic french...that's just a start, but the more important point is that if you invest your 4 years in learning language and eventually get a job with federal deptt...will it be that much paying ( Worth)...in comparison to the career started in basic jobs....where with your diligence and experience you would reach to a reasonable level of income....
Please don't take my words personally....

Mercury6,

Please comment on this querry.

regards

Maverick

1. Do we really need to have a Canadian Citizenship to apply ?
>>>NO

2. As an immigrant to apply for those jobs, do we really need to have special / additional skills / education / experience etc. as well...
>>>>depends on the requirements of the job. I would recommend to get an equivalency certification from a local unvi such as UTO or York Univ.

3. Do these Job(s) exists in reality....(For an Immigrant) as I understand from CD that there is a lot of \"MARA MARI\" in getting good Jobs even in Pvt. Sector.
>>>If the jobs dont exist, they will not be advertised in the govt. That's the difference between private and govt. In govt everything is done by the book. Rules are clear. All jobs that are open to the public are advertised on the web.
