Greetings,
To the point, I met this girl on internet. She is a citizen of India and currently doing her masters in Australia. Her studdy will be over by first week of November.
I want to sponsor her as my fiancee or spouse. I heard, it takes too long for the spouse immigration and the better option would be to invite her to visit canada and apply for her immigration as my spouse here.
My question is - would it be okay if she goes to the canadian consulate in Sydney for the TRV. I will send her all necessary sponor/invitation letters. WHat kind of proof do they need for sponsoring the TRV (the visitors visa)?
many thanks in advance.

hi there,
First of all there is NO fiancee category anymore they have replace it with common-law ( in that case you have to prove that you have lived together for a yr atleast ) .
I think it will be very hard to get TRV for Canada ...and even if she get that visa she has to tell at POE that she is going to apply for inland spouse.
And also looking at these timelines for outside
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/times-int/2003-Q2/05-fc-spouses.html
and inside http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/times/process-in.html
you would be better off to apply thru India or Sydney as they give prefrences to spouses if you are applying outside as compared to inside as they know you guys are already together .
