I am looking for an information, which I can’t get from cic website so I am posting it here.

Currently, I am on the post graduate work permit and say if it going to expire in December 2004 and I apply for extension in October 2004 to study after my work permit expires.

And if it is approved in November 2004, than what happen in this situation? Am I still officially able to work until December 2004 or as I get my new study permit in November 2004, my work permit gets cancelled and I can’t work? I am doing this all to maintain my status to put my immigration file.

Please help me with this information. I thank you in advance for your time and consideration.

Your Work permit will be not valid after you get study permit.
Do you think CIC will allow you to work and study full-time ?? ( Mr. Massood correct me if I'm wrong)

the best bet would be to apply for study permit around 5 weeks as this is the processing time nowadays

My current Post-Graduate Work Permit expiry date: December 20, 2004

Start date to Study at College: January 05, 2005

Date i Apply for Extension to Study (in 2005): October 15, 2004

My application is Procceed and Approved on December 05, 2004

Now considering above example, am i eligible to work from December 05, 2004 (date of my study permit is approved) until December 20, 2004 (date my work permit is expiring)?

I am asking this because post-graduate work permit is to work for 1 year and that what i am tying to do by working until December 20, 2004.

On the other hand i did heard that person cannot have 2 different visa/permit at the same time.

Now tell me till what date am i supposed to work officially? So, i can do accordingly.

whatever permit you applied and got last holds. the earlier permit is cancelled or loses its status.

sukh is correct. you can't have both status. it can only be study or work.
