Ottawa_Nerd,
Yeah, Too bad abt the grocery store but maybe 20 years from now....
Hameek,
I did Sun certification for developer and web component developer. I'm currrently preparing for business component exam.
You will find tons of resumes on line if you search in yahoo/google for java resumes. You can definitely use them for ideas but ultimately every resume is unique and based on one's experience /skills and qualification/.
Regards,
Raghu

Readers have highlighted here (including yours truely) that with a US experience you have a better chance of getting a job here, esp in IT development !

I got my job due to my US experince only ...if you are good and fulfil industry specific requirement they don't care about Canadian Experience
In the interview itself they will understand about your potentiality and knowledge

Congrats, Raghu, Pinakind, Zahid2004 and others! Your postings on job hunt have given me a lot of confidence. I'm also located in US, and looking to migrate very soon. I'm planning for a short trip to Toronto for 1 week from Sep 14th, and then making the big move next month.
So, how do you find the market for J2EE jobs in Toronto and elsewhere in ON? Did you attend any telephonic interviews before you landed? I have been sending out my resume to a number of recruiters (including Ajilon, CNC etc), and so far there has been a luke-warm response. I'm following up with them to see if they can meet with me in person during my visit.
Maybe it would make a difference if I'm physically present in Canada, as against applying from US? I have several years of experience and also hold a few certifications including J2EE webcomponent developer and an MCSD.
Any ideas on how best I can make use of this 1 week trip (Sep14-22) for my job hunt? Also, we can perhaps share our experiences on job-hunting from US before moving to Canada. I'm sure there are more in this boat as well! Thanks everyone!
