Has anyone sponsored their parents-in-law from India in the early years of marriage ( less than 5yrs) ? I think it is not easy to adjust in a new country in old age (60+) - any thoughts?
the best thing is to call them on a visitor visa for six months and let them decide, if they would like to stay here permanently.

I agree with Sunil. Many people do this. My father came here two years ago and he refuses to come here permenantly.
It happens often for parents in India that everyone there (in Canada) is enjoying life and so would like to come. There is also element of staying with son and grand-children is also there. Once they are coming here and seeing week-end to week-end life, they regret their decision and want to go back.
