Job fair ?

It's wasting time and money, nothing more.

Aren't you a skeptic? Waste of money? It is FREE. Only cost involve is most probably transportation and copies of your resume. Waste of time? Do you think reading CanadianDesi posts are better use of time than working toward finding a job?

Mr AnilKG,

I have attended 4 to 5 job fairs in Canada and its was my experience. OK

I have paid entrance fee for National Job fair in downtown and most of stoles are for University and private computer training classes. and Agencies stoles are there but they just collect the resume because of lot of crowed there.

Please go and visit National Job fair this time and you will realise that that is only cheating !

Job fairs are useful or not useful to you depends on so many things. Your skills, demand and supply ratio, number of jobs in industry, education (Canadian preferred), experience (Canadian preferred) and so on....A nurse who is educated in Canada is more likely to find a job at Job Fair (Healthcare) than a medical secretary who educated in India with work experience in India.

I checked out the national job fair (www.thenationaljobfair.com). Looks good to me. I haven't attended any such job fairs, though.

So Kap, don't you think it is worth it? Can you tell us your experience with this national job fair? The site says there are some 3000 jobs. Any idea how many of them are IT jobs, anyone?
