my personal take...
its NOT free, the cost for non members is $40 plus gst... so take that into consideration... but if you can afford to go, then there will be a lot of it recruitment agencies on hand there, and is a great chance to network...
Thanks for the info, bighead. I would love to attend. I'm still in US, trying to get a feel for the Canadian IT industry before landing there. This may have been discussed before, but since you seem to be in Calgary, perhaps you can advise - how is the IT market in Calgary, compared to Toronto? I plan to make a landing in Toronto for a 1 week stay and then returning to US. And to keep trying for jobs in various parts of Canada from here. I wish I could find any such events in Toronto during this time!
Still trying to get some leads, but I guess I can't do much sitting in US! Any advice on locating IT development jobs in Calgary? Also, does becoming a CIPS member help?
Thanks!
Toronto has lot more tech events than Calgary. Try http://www.torontotech.com for listing of tech events in Toronto and Ottawa. CIPS is based in Toronto and also has CIPS Toronto website http://www.cipstoronto.ca
