Dear all,
After going through various messages . I shall like to ask all Indian Canadians to provide me some info about the present hot skills in IT sector in Canada . I mean
What are the technologies that are in demand in IT and what software skills are getting absorbs quickly in IT firms .
I am an IT professional and have already received my PR , am planning to move in Mid Jan 05 .
One more thing ,
Is the Canadian firm hires around the year or, their hiring decision is based on fiscal year . If yes then when is the good time , I mean the months when they are on hiring spree.

Finally , I really loved this site . Its open , honest and informative .

I posted a link earlier for job openings. If you look through the job requirements you will get a good idea of what skills are in demand.

Hundreds of jobs here from all fields including IT.

Well, not 100%, but yes hiring does slows down during winter. So late Nov. to Jan begining may seem dull.
Each company has it's own fiscal year - some run from Jan-Dec, some even from Aug-July. And this does has an impact on hiring.

Well,
the info you provided helped me a lot I went to SHRC site (it deal with trend and analysis of Software HR) . To my surprize I found that for year 2004 and onwards , companies have preferred to hire people with background and skills in .NET, Windows Xp , Windows 2000 and MS ACCESS !! as well as in networking TCP / IP and secrurities .

Just want your feedback based upon the info I have mentioned above
