Dear Desis,
I had been reading posts and those are indeed informative.
We have received our landing papers and plane to be in Canada in the month of Nov.
I have one query?
My self and my wife do not have the birth certificate. Collage leaving certificate/ 10th certificate was used as a proof for the birth date. At the port of entry in Canada authorities will be asking us the Birth certificate also it will be required while applying for the SIN card. What should we do? Do we have to produce the same documents or we should get the affidavit done?
Let me know, if affidavit for the birth date need to be done then let me have the format.
Awaiting your feed back.
Regards
Suhas.
Hi Hanumanji,
Your passport and PR card are the most valuable documents as far as applying for SIN and health card, opening a bank account and to gain entry to Canada are concerned.
Thus far I have not met anybody asking for my birth certificate. If some desi has experienced otherwise, please share.

You do not require a birth certificate for identification. In canada , they require birth certificate to verify your citizenship. SO you can use Passport or Landing documents/PC as identification
