Plain Kichri and some evening snacks easy ones Pls

Recipe for Plain Kichri :
Mix 1 : 2 ration - Rice : Dal
i.e. dal should be double quantity of rice.

You can take one of these dals : moong dhuli,
arhar, moong chilke wali ( not whole moong),
masoor ki dal(not whole masoor)

Wash and add 4-5 times water to it.
+ salt,very little red chilli powder and (optional-even some
dhania and garam masala powder -very little-less than
1/4 of tea spoon)
and boil it either in pressure cooker or any other
utensil.

If you want to make it tasty , you can first of
all melt ghee / butter-1tablespoon ,
+ whole jeera -1/2tea spoon till it crackle ,
+ add garlic - ginger paste -1/2 tea spoon
and after 10seconds , follow the above process.

Poonam. how long should it be boiled in the pressure cooker ?

IANAC, but I will take a guess. First seeti on high heat. After first seeti, turn down heat to low medium. Leave PC on heater for 10 minutes(don't bother about seetis). At the end of this period, turn off heater, leave PC on heater till pressure normalizes. What says Poonam? How close am I to the right answer? Pretty close or way off in the jungle?:D

It depends metal
If it is cooked in steel pressure cooker -
two whistles(in case of moong dhuli dal, arhar dal)
three whistles(in case of moong chilka dal-not whole moong).

In handalium cooker (the normal ones)-
one whistle ( in case of moong dhuli dal, arhar dal, masoor dal)
two whistles ( in case of moong chilka dal -not whole moong)

Also if the quantity is more it takes more time!

In case of preparing Khichri, if anything goes wrong
one can make it as per choice even after opening the
pressure cooker, if you find it too thick- add warm water
or heat it more if you find it uncooked or watery.

It is very simple!

Poonam, I have a Hawkins 5L Pressure cooker. What make is it :)

So the dhuli Hui arhar daal would be the best I suppose..

Mmm..Where are the Bongs in da house...

Moshai Ani70/Soberflier..
Khichudi + Postor Boda + Ghee :D
