soberflier and atulgs,
Excellent posts by both of you. If every Indian is aware of the need for good manners, discipline and the right attitude, the next generation of Indians will be better than what we are now.
Cheers,

Success
To laugh often and much;
To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children;
To earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends;
To appreciate beauty, to find the best in others;
To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition;
To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived.
This is to have succeeded. Bessie Stanley

Excellent replies from atul and sf
Atul, I know exactly what you mean as I have visited Tanzania as well.
It is remarkable with such short supply of material and wealth, how these people muster up smile to welcome guests. I will never be able to forget those "Genuine" smiles and the "Karibu" (welcome). It all comes so naturally to them.
In smiles and in the greeting department, I am afraid Multi cultural Canada, also falls far far short. It has much to learn.
Sure the Universities and Colleges here teach us how to say hello, how to firmly shake hands, how to meet other people by having an eye contact, smile etc. etc. But in most cases the look in the eyes gives away the fakeness of the whole thing.
It is amazing how a country like Tanzania manages to arouse the trueness of these basic, simple and natural human acts.
I believe these kind of human life lessons can only be learnt by travelling and seeking.
