Would appreciate if others refrained from this topic and only Mr. Massood replied

Hello Mr. Massood. I have a question which I will phrase into separate parts. Will be awaiting your response.

1.) I have heard that a person, who marries a Canadian citizen, is eligible for immediate consideration for a work permit in Canada. Is this true ? If its true, can a work permit be applied from New Delhi ? How long does it take, if applied from New Delhi ?

2.) Suppose the spouse now comes to Canada and is employed in an organization, based in Canada. Now, the canadian citizen wants to sponsor the wife, while working in the USA. Would, satisfying condition #1 help or harm the sponsorship process ?
Which embassy, in the USA, would the files be transferred to ?

1. No.

2. n/a. A Canadian citizen can sponsor his/her spouse from anywhere outside Canada regardless where the sponsored spouse is physically located.

Mr. Massood, I direct your kind attention to the following link

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/work/worker-4.html

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/work/exempt-2.html

Quote:

Spouses
Spouses and common-law partners of skilled foreign workers, spouses and common-law partners of certain foreign students, spouses and common-law partners of a person doing post-graduation employment for certain foreign students and post-doctoral fellows do not need a confirmation from HRDC.

This is what I was talking about. I, being a Canadian citizen, can claim that I am eligible to work full time, anywhere in Canada for 6 months and beyond. Would it be advisable to retain the services of a lawyer if this is the process to be followed ?

Sorry, I understood your 2nd scenario as a follow-up of the 1st one. hence, my reply above. I wasn't sure where the non-Canadian was physically located.

The spouse [while working in Canada on a work permit] can be sponsored by the Cdn citizen working in US.

You as a Canadian citizen are NOT considered to be a 'person who is not a Canadian citizen or landed immigrant' on a work permit in Canada. Your quote applies to foreign workers, not Cdn citizens.
