Hi,
I surfaced a stange situation with my property manager
When I moved to this apartment as I don't have any other option I moved into an one bedroom apartment and during signing lease I informed my property manager that if any 2 bedroom apartment is available I want to move to that. She told me I am second person in the waiting list and she will let me know when any 2 BR apartment is avalibale
During Summer time one 2 BR got vaccant and list no 1 guy moved to that so I expected it will be my turn.I kept enquiring every month with this lady and she kept promising me once any 2BR apartment is available she will immdiately let me knwo
Yesterday from other source I came to know that another 2 BR is going to vacant by end of this month and immidiately I approached her and asked for that 2BR apartment
Now that lady is telling me she won't give that 2BR apartment and giving some funny reasons like my son make noises and she got compain from my neighours
I told her that even she heard complains she should have told me directly so I could correct my son.Now I decided to talk to my landlord
My strong points are
(1) This lady kept promising me for last one year and now doing something internally to bring her known friends there
(2)She never came and told me that my neighbours complained about my son's yelling and she making that excuse only when I approached and asked for that apartment
(3)I talked with my other neighours who told me that they never had any issue with my son's yelling(I am suspecting one neighour who is very closed to that lady is creating this story)
My negetive point is I don't have any proof
(1)That she promised me about 2BR apartment for last one year
(2)She never gave me any written waiting list that I was the second person in the list
Could you guys advice
(1)How I should speak to me landlord.I know this lady will try to convince my landlord
(2)If I move to another apartment that time do I need to give reference letter from my earlier property manager ?..my worry this lady might give wrong feedback
I have a stable job and good credit history..will it be sufficient to move into a new apartment
Thanks
