Now you can get P.Eng without working under P.Eng. They will issue so called "Provisional P.Eng" and based on that you can get job in P.Eng.

My two friends did that recently, so it should be authentic.

P.Eng website is good source of all this information.

You are right Garvo,,, and also they are chaning crieteria for Foreign Engineers. I am not sure but I have heard the changes would be if you have 4 years of equivalent degree and 10 years of experience they will issue a Provisonal P.Eng. You don't have to work under P.Eng to get the Provisonal, but later you have to get certified in 1-2 years and you have to work under P.Eng as well as Engineer.

One of my buddy is already got the provisional .

Jaimin,

I think you are confused about the job and P.Eng here.

Job = Network - > forced by qualification.

means you must have good network anywhere in the world to have a good job. If you will try but somebody else who have a good reference in the same organisation (meanse good network) will get the job and you even if you are P.Eng. You will not able to get the same job.

So try to make a network with good people who have good job in good organisation.

You must have to apply for P.Eng. So that after networking if you may have a chance for good job then you can say that you have applied for P.Eng.

If you have design knowledge then and then you sould try for P.Eng.

with regards,
Piyush

I think you guys should apply for P.Eng. ASAP and do not go after "hear and say" strategy. Believe, what you do !
Remember the old story " Grapes are sour ".
Once you are in the system, peo is very helpful and these days, i guess they have a program called "PATHWAYS" under which EIT's can have access to jobs in their field through PEO.
so check out the website: http://www.ospe.on.ca" rel="nofollow">LINK
