Being a six sigma is certainly a plus, although, it is not a necessity to get a job in the mfg sector. Gen knowledge and understanding of process flows, lean mfg, JIT, time/motion studies and other classical mfg engr stuff is good to start off your career.
Typically, mfg sector involves heavy interaction with customers and/or suppliers. So a lot of companies look for probelm solving skills, personal appearance, communication skills, negotiation skills, team building skills, decision making skills and so on.
The above is especially very true for automotive mfg. Mfg careers related to automotive are usually available in Windsor, London, Kitchener, Cambridge, Guelph, Hamilton, Tillsonburg, Markham, St.Catherines areas.
Typical companies in the above areas are Arvin-Meritor, Siemens, Textron, Linamar, Magna, TRW, Chrysler, GM, Ford, etc.

thanx for ur suggestions
u seem to be related with mfg sector..I would like to listen more....Do these mfg companies sponsor nadidates..based on their skill set....
When you say sponsor candidates, I assume you mean for a work visa. If that's the case, I am not sure, as I am a Cdn PR.
Please feel free to post more pointed queries if you'd like more info on mfg sector.
