Ok tell us...

1. Who was the original choice for Amjad Khan's role in Sholay?
2. The script of Anand was written with which actor in mind (role eventually played by Rajesh Khanna)?
3. Who was Yash Chopra's first choice for Amitabh's role in Deewar till Salim Javed put their foot down in favour of Amitabh?
4. 2 Heros declined the hero's role in Zanjeer before Amitabh bagged the role...who were they?

I was mesmerized reading this article...

Please do read it.. I wish I could go back to those days when THE MOVIE was released..... (and yeah I was a few months old )

And as a matter of fact, I have had a chance to see the "nth-generation" version of the original Sholay ! The scene where Gabbar is killed. Of 'cos its on a pathetic DVD by a company called EROS (the B******S) of screwing up Glorious Indian movies... But the wailing they talk abt in that scene..It was devastating...

Sholay is a film that SHOULD NOT be seen in your home.. it should be seen on a 70mm screen ! I am still jealous of my parents and uncles and aunt's..who had a chance to live through that era !

Vishal let me take a guess.. Yash Chopra has worked with Rajesh Khanna in "Mere dil mein aaj kya hai, tu kahein toh main bata doon".... so I guess his choice would have been Rajesh Khanna....
