I once made a mistake, but I was wrong about it.

TeleM is actually a pretty good option for polished, skilled immigrants.
The jobs can be broadly classified as
Incoming Calls to call centres belonging to banks, IT and Service companies such as Bell etc.
Outgoing calls generally mean cold calling to prospective clients to sel products like RRSP, Long distance phone, TV channels blah blah
Fraudulent outgoing calls require calling and pushing bubvious products like free cruise travels, free lottrey numbers etc.

The hourly rate is mostly $8.00 - $12.50
Some have a commision element built in thejob but one must insist on minimum guranteed part.
You can work 20 - 40 hours

General labour jobs tend to give you body pain and telemarketing jobs tend to give you mental pain. In telemarketing jobs, there would a team lead who would be pushing you to get the "X" number of sales! In general labour jobs if you work slow, you are automatically out!

Handling incoming/inbound calls would be easier as compared to telemarketing. Don't rely on commission too much in telemarketing jobs, some companies simply give them out at their discretion even if you hit the numbers.
