SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - Actor Arnold Schwarzenegger firmly held center stage on Friday as the deadline approached for candidates to enter the recall election in what has become a free-for-all unique in California's history.
The Austrian-born actor appeared on several morning talk shows and received glowing praise from his fellow Republicans whose goal is to recall Democratic Gov. Gray Davis and replace him with one of their own in the Oct. 7 special election.
