Hello
I have applied for under the Application to Sponsor a member of a family class to sponsor my wife and child who are right now in Mumbai India. The processing has begun on May 19th 2004.
Its been quite sometime now and i would like my family to atleast visit me. Dunno how long the immig process is gonna take !!
Is it possible for my wife to aply for visitor's visa for canada while her immig file is still in process ?????
Another important issue is that my wife's and child's Passports have been called by the canadian High Commission New Delhi 5 months before for some kind of check and they are still lying around with them without responding to our faxes sent to them.
Will appreciate an early reply for your end.

They should get visa or interview by December/Jan. If not, talk to a lawyer to write to the embassy.
It is quite rare for a prospective immigrant in the family class [spouse] to get visitor' s visa. No harm in trying though.
