Dear Senior Desis,

Thnks for the invitation of advice. I am new immigrant and landed last week. I have passed CIMA-UK examinations and my appliation for memebership is in the process. I have come to realize that one has to pursue some Univercity level education here in canada to make better the prospect of good jobs. I am not sure what I should do either a canadian CA or Masters degree in some business or economics decipline. Could you help me out and give me some advice. I have landed with my family spouse and 3 kids aged 5,4 and1.
I am 35 and would also like to know if this is too late for me to pursue any qualification here. I have a;lso heard that Landed Immigrants can get loan through OSAP pragram, which also tke care of your family expenses during your period of full time study. Regards

Hi NYK,
First of all, congratulations on landing in Canada and hope you are able to achieve your objectives in this country.

I notice you have landed with family, so while I am not specifically aware of the CA discipline, I thought I could point out that you can get your credentials and qualifications assessed to Canadian equivalent free of charge from immigrant supporting agencies.

Basically with an educational assessment you might find out that you just need to do one or two courses or do some test to get the necessary Canadian equivalent. However we do have a lot of CA's on CD and they might be able to offer some specific advice.

In Manitoba we have Employment Projects of Winnipeg, http://www.epw.ca" rel="nofollow">LINK and similar other agencies who provide employment assistance to new immigrants. I am sure similar agencies exist in your province, try to make contact with them, they are a good starting point for employment.

My personal belief is that it is never too late to learn so even if you need to go to school or University do not get discouraged.
