Hi,
Me and my wife are moving to St Catharines next week and would like to know about apartments in St Catharines. We are interested in Basement / 1 Bed Room apartment in and ard St Catharines. I see that the apartments in Hamilton are cheaper. But it shows as 40 mins commute to St Cat. Is there a good transit system I could use to comute to work if I found an apartment in Hamilton? I do have a car if driving is a better option.
thanks for your help and info.

My suggestion is to look for apartments in St. Catherine's , near where your workplace will be.

What the maps are not showing you is the traffic you will have to deal with in commuting from Hamilton to St. Catherine's.
During rush hours, the QEW is a horrible mess and the Niagara area anyway has a lot of tourist traffic (although it will be less in winter time).

But with winters coming, you should decide whether you want to make that drive twice a day in snow, ice and rain.

Unless the price differential is so great that it justifies all that driving time, look in the St. Catherine's area.

Quite a few people live in St Catherines and commute everyday to Hamilton for work. The traffic is not bad at all, since Hamilton is not like Toronto. The commute is very easy and generally there are no problems. There are several areas in Hamilton and its neighbouring areas that have apartments close to the highway.
However, I did not quite understand why apartments in Hamilton would be any cheaper than in St Catherines?
