Hi Guys,
Any desis staying around Victoria Park & Eglinglton (Scarborough)? I'm planning to move to an appartment right at this intersection (Goldengate appts). I was wondering if this area is safe for family living. Any desis living around this area please give you feedback. I find this place very convinient for shopping(no frills & eglington town centre) and also to go to work in downtown.

I don't live around Vic Park / Eglinton, but did check out the area when I was new to Canada and looking for an apartment.

While it may appear to be convenient, its certainly far from being a nicer part of town. If the lower rent is a consideration, the low rise buildings around the Yonge subway line, including (but not limited to) Yonge / Eglinton seem to have a high vacancy rate and if you push, you'd be able to get good deals on the rent, in a more upmarket locale.

Just my perspective....

I have been living near victoria park subway, for the last four months, I find the place is very convenient however I would not like to buy a house here and stay for long. It is relatively safe and full of south asians.
