Anyone out there who has a B.E. degree in Electronics (or some other discipline), and has been working in IT Industry as a architect/programmer/analyst/consultant for years and has applied or is considering applying for Professional Engineers license?

Is it feasible?

Any other advantages other than :
a) Having a P.Eng on ur resume
b) Signing passport applications ;)
c) Getting discounts on car insurances ?

Thanks, Bison :p

Doesnt Pe licensing require that you must have experience in your own field...?

Unless you can prove that your IT experience is related to the your degree....

Yes ,Mercury6 is right. You must have experience in the field of engineering branch in which you have the qualification.

Applicant has to show how he / she has related technical education to perform job. It does not say that you have to be a computer science backgroud to be in IT. Applicant is required to provide case studies to prove how technical education was applied to trouble shoot and resolve technical problem at work.
Best of luck IT people......you can apply for P Eng :)
