Charlie is absolutely right.

Please visit PEO site and carefully read the section "Experience Requirement" under "Licencing and Registration".
I am quoting what it says.
"Engineering experience should be compatible with
the applicant’s particular area of academic qualification.
If there is incompatibility between the academic
and experience qualifications (for example, a mechanical
engineering graduate whose experience has been
acquired working mainly in a civil engineering
domain), additional experience, perhaps complemented
by relevant studies, will be required."
Good Luck.

Anyone out there who has a B.E. degree in Electronics (or some other discipline), and has been working in IT Industry as a architect/programmer/analyst/consultant for years and has applied or is considering applying for Professional Engineers license?
Is it feasible?
Any other advantages other than :
a) Having a P.Eng on ur resume
b) Signing passport applications
c) Getting discounts on car insurances ?
Thanks, Bison
I am in the same boat. After M.E. (Electronics and Telecomm), I shifted to IT. Now after 10 years, when I applied for P.Eng. as a way to get my foreign credentials recognized, I had to appear for exams related to my studied field, which I have long forgotten, as I never practiced in that field... then in the due course, I have felt that P.Eng. would do no good to my IT career. However, getting memberships like CIPS, or other relevant to present or intended IT sub area, would be greatly helpful.
Above are just my personal observations.
